Position description

Contract length: 4–6 months, with a possible paid 6-month extension based on performance and budget availability

Hours: flexible,
20-40 hours per week, during CET core working hours (Monday to Friday)

Location: Spain — primarily Madrid, with the possibility of Barcelona (to be confirmed) Hybrid arrangement: office-based with some remote flexibility

Travel: none, except relocating to Spain

Reporting to: Project Management Coordinator/ Project Officers

Deadline for applications: There is no fixed deadline, timing depends on your university’s Erasmus process. If selected, we’ll issue an acceptance letter for your scholarship application. Please ensure you meet your university’s internal deadlines. Note that participation is contingent upon securing an Erasmus scholarship.

Screening and interviews will commence immediately, and the candidate can be selected at any stage.

Erasmus+ supports traineeships (work placements, internships) abroad at any workplace for students currently enrolled in higher education institutions in Program Countries at short-cycle Bachelor and Master level as well as for doctoral candidates. These opportunities are also open to recent graduates.

Erasmus+ traineeships are open to any student enrolled in a higher education institution holding an Erasmus+ Charter for Higher Education.

The traineeship must be relevant for the degree-related learning and personal development needs and, wherever possible, be integrated in the study program.

A traineeship can take place at any organization located anywhere in the world (with the exception of EU institutions, bodies and agencies).

The role

Are you interested in the work of CLEAR Global? Are you looking to gain experience? An Erasmus internship at CLEAR Global is an excellent opportunity for an energetic candidate to gain experience in the wide range of tasks that make up the backbone of not-for-profit work.

The Project Management Intern will collaborate closely with the Project Management Team in coordinating projects, ensuring that
they are completed efficiently, in line with internal processes and partner expectations. They will support with coordinating collaboration among different stakeholders on specific
projects, ensuring engagement, appropriate levels of expected output quality, and turnaround. They will also assist with internal processes necessary for the effective planning, coordination, and compliance of activities.

This internship is touching on all aspects of CLEAR Global’s work, involving regular engagement with team members around the world. The Project Management Intern will assist in managing projects ranging from language services, through research, to language technology. We are looking for a dynamic and autonomous team player able to think on their feet, who is interested in systems and processes and who proposes solutions to the challenges that arise in a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities:

      • Support the planning and delivery of projects covering research, language technology, or language services. Support can include organizing webinars, participating in data collection, and inputting into monitoring;
      • Assist the Project Management Team to ensure that project documentation is accurate, clear, compliant, properly tracked, and filed. This can include:
        • Upload and download project files, run pre- and post-production checks;
        • Track project progress and delivery, keep project trackers up-to-date, and provide regular status updates to the team;
        • Maintain an organized project environment across platforms, maintaining project records, files, and databases as assigned.
      • Maintain effective communication with stakeholders throughout the project, ensuring that they remain engaged throughout the project and have a clear understanding of project expectations;
      • Handle other project management and general administrative tasks as assigned, including preparing written documentation, filing, note-taking, arranging meetings, budget monitoring, etc.;
      • Act in the best interest of the organization during the internship period.

Qualifications

We are seeking candidates who are eligible to receive a scholarship for the Erasmus+ program. Please note that we cannot consider candidates who do not qualify for this scholarship or who will not receive the scholarship.

Essential skills and competencies

      • Graduated from latest diploma/degree within the last year, or graduating soon (preferred degree in linguistics, international development or related field)
      • Excellent organizational skills
      • Keen interest in project and information management, improving efficiency through processes
      • Thoroughness and attention to detail
      • Willingness to get to grips with new technologies
      • Able to manage multiple tasks and a busy workload
      • Capacity to work independently to achieve agreed targets
      • A good level of confidence in understanding budgets and working with spreadsheets
      • Strong interpersonal skills
      • Strong written and spoken English

Desirable skills and competencies

      • Previous experience in project support in non-profit organizations, particularly in language services, development and/or humanitarian action (internships and volunteering are considered valid experiences)
      • Previous experience in translation and/or interpreting
      • Knowledge of CAT tools, familiarity with cloud-based filing, Slack, Hubspot or Asana
      • Proficiency in other languages is an asset

Job requirements

Successful candidates will need to have access to a computer, one will not be provided by the host institution. The host institution will provide a workspace and a reliable internet connection.
