Position description

The Centre for European Progression (CFEP) is looking for a trainee interested in European Affairs. She or he will learn all the aspects of operating a non-governmental organisation, including event organization, Erasmus project management, fund raising and blog writing. Applicants are required to have excellent communication skills, to demonstrate creativity and to be ready to work in flexible time frame.

We offer a paid internship for a fixed 6-month term, ideally starting in October 2018.

About us: the CFEP is Brussels-based NGO that organizes events related to European Affairs. We also produce papers, studies, and publications as outcomes where we focus on young professionals, experts and academic professionals who are dealing with European Affairs. We equally plan events, trips and other kinds of workshops for university students in order to open their eyes to the importance of the European integration and give them tools for a successful career and life.


  • Organise and attend CFEP events and activities;
  • Manage invitations and follow-up with participants, networking;
  • Support the management of the central website, newsletters and social media platforms;
  • Write press releases and other materials;
  • Write blog posts and short reports to analyse current developments in European politics;
  • Manage Erasmus project applications and support their implementation;
  • Communicate the NGO’s activity (newsletter, social media);
  • Explore fundraising possibilities; build up cooperation with other organisations.


Candidates must have strong communication skills and a university degree in political science, EU studies, international relations, social sciences or related fields. Applicants should also have solid writing skills, as well as sound knowledge about EU affairs and the functioning of the European Union. EU citizenship is essential.

Essential requirements

  • Deep interest and good understanding of EU and international affairs;
  • Very good command of English and another EU language (written and oral);
  • Good communication, interpersonal and networking skills, creativity and ambition;
  • Ability to take initiative, contribute proactively to the daily work of a small team;
  • Flexibility and ability to work in a small structure in flexible working hours;
  • Experience at EU institutions considered as a strong asset.
